Slack to Discord Transition

We are almost done creating our community Discord server! (It’s looking pretty cool… 😉) If you didn’t know, we decided to transition from Slack to Discord as a communication platform for our writers and editors after seeing poll results.

We’ll let our writers know when the server is completed and send them an email as well as an announcement on Slack. We will completely disband the slack once the Discord is fully implemented.

“A few nice words can help someone more than you think.”

Whether it’s something small or big, whether it’s a family member, friend, or even stranger, say a few nice words to someone today. And the day after today. And so on. I guess you never know how helpful a few nice words can be until you hear them yourself. Those words can be that little push you didn’t know you needed. How much better can your day become just from a small compliment? Go answer that question for someone else, and hope karma comes along and answers it for you too! :D

And with that, we have arrived at the end of this issue of the readers x students newsletter! If you enjoyed this newsletter and want to receive future ones, sign up for our newsletter (readers x students) here!

Please forward this email to family, friends, colleagues, and people you know who share similar interests and/or a love of writing. Tell them about students x students & readers x students too! If you have a family member, friend, etc. that enjoys writing, encourage them to join Medium and apply to be a writer with us (note: they must be a middle school, high school, or undergrad in college to be a writer for our publication.)
